Field Service Technician

The Field Service Technician role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and deployment of offshore equipment in support of HCS’s oil and gas operations. This position focuses on providing hands-on technical expertise for the installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of subsea control systems and associated high-pressure equipment, both onshore and offshore. Key responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and testing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. The role also involves maintaining accurate service records, completing risk assessments, and actively contributing to the planning and execution of offshore campaigns. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining HCS’s reputation for technical excellence, safety, and reliability, working closely with supervisors, clients, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality service solutions in a challenging offshore environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the planning and preparation of offshore campaigns.
  • Support and take direction from the supervisor.
  • Follow and apply Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) policies, including those of HCS and client companies.
  • Use and communicate Quality and Safety-based process tools proactively.
  • Interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic engineering drawings.
  • Use measuring and recording equipment effectively.
  • Work with high pressures and pressure-generating equipment.
  • Service, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as required.
  • Overhaul and test pumps, motors, and control valves.
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on subsea controls equipment, including Work Over Control Systems, Reels, Umbilicals, Sheaves, Pumps, pressure-containing vessels, and flushing units.
  • Install, hook up, function check, and operate subsea controls equipment.
  • Build and modify subsea controls equipment as needed.
  • Conduct hydrostatic testing and flushing of surface, subsea, controls, and wellhead equipment.
  • Perform gas testing of surface and subsea equipment when qualified.
  • Lead and assist with customer site integration testing of wellhead and controls equipment.
  • Create detailed service reports, maintain accurate records, and complete all necessary paperwork, including test procedures, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to a high standard.
  • Assist with equipment inspections and maintain work packages, including signing route cards, procedures, and labelling work package evidence.
  • Provide support to other trades/disciplines as required.
  • Display respectful communication with peers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety, and the Environment.
  • Take responsibility for personal and workplace safety, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
  • When required, be dedicated to major customer projects.
